Cold Fever - Chapter 3 - Part 4

Previous   TOC Story 4 After finishing a photo shoot at the studio, Tohru returned to the office around 7:30 PM. It wasn’t until he glanced at the clock on the wall that he realized how late it had gotten. "I'm heading out," he called out, and a hand casually waved from the back of the room. “Good work,” Taniguchi replied, still apparently planning to keep working. Tohru grabbed his coat from the hook when Kurokawa called out, “Takahisa-san.” Tohru felt a sense of dread. “There was a message from Matsumura-san, the public relations officer from A/Z Company. He wants to schedule a meeting. Takahisa-san, you’re okay with taking on this job, right?” The way he emphasized “this” was annoyingly condescending. Kurokawa was well aware that Tohru was picky about the work he took on, and this was a subtle dig. Tohru hadn't liked Kurokawa from their first meeting, and recently, Kurokawa’s influence within the office had been growing. He had always been meticulous, first taking...

Previous   TOC   Next Story 3 I was planning to go out in the T-shirt I had worn to bed, but upon closer inspection, I noticed that the shoulder was torn. I changed into a plain black T-shirt and put on some jeans. Feeling someone’s gaze, I turned around to see Fujishima sitting up in bed, staring at me intently. He wasn’t wearing any clothes. I hadn’t dressed him. "Are you going out?" he asked, to which I replied, "Yeah." "Who are you meeting?" "…Taniguchi. I’ll be back before noon." I approached the bed and gently stroked Fujishima’s soft hair. To be honest, I would have preferred to laze around in bed until midday, but since Taniguchi had said he wanted to meet and talk, I couldn’t refuse. "I was thinking of going out too. How about we have lunch together?" As I touched him, I felt a sudden desire. I leaned down and licked Fujishima’s lips. "…That tickles," Fujishima said, narrowing his eyes. Unable to resist any longer, I ...

Previous   TOC   Next Story 2 Nine months after they met, Taniguchi never imagined they would be holding a two-person exhibition. On the last day of the exhibition, Taniguchi left home early, intending to grab a quick bite before heading to the gallery. But when he arrived, he stopped in front of the entrance, unable to simply walk past. Despite knowing he’d be back to help clean up after the exhibition, he couldn’t resist going inside. “Tohru Takahisa ・ Masayuki Taniguchi Two-Person Exhibition: Temperature” Every time he looked at the large panel at the entrance of the exhibition room, he felt a mix of embarrassment, unworthiness, and guilt. If it had been his own solo exhibition, he wouldn’t have been able to secure such a prestigious gallery so quickly or easily. It was all thanks to the power of the name “Tohru Takahisa.” Tohru Takahisa had gained fame almost overnight with the CRUX poster photo, garnering attention in the industry. However, he rarely made public appearanc...

The content warning is in the footnotes 0 . Previous   TOC   Next Flowers Bloom, Scatter, and Blossom Story 1 Even though the sun was beginning to set, the outside air was unbearably hot and humid. The thick humidity made it difficult to breathe, and with each step he took, sweat seeped into the back of the rarely-worn suit. The train was packed due to the evening rush hour, and the air conditioning, roaring noisily, did nothing to cool down the carriage. The sour body odor of the middle-aged businessman standing in front of him made Masayuki Taniguchi feel queasy. By the time he finally reached the hotel where the party was being held, a feeling of exhaustion weighed down on his shoulders as if he had already completed a hard day’s work. He regretted not asking Kurokawa to drive him to the hotel, but he quickly regretted having that regret. After all, it was he himself who had insisted, “I’ll take the train,” and refused the man who had offered, “I’ll drive you.” After checki...
